Duilio Forte
Duilio Forte
An Italian and Swedish artist, he graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano and founded AtelierFORTE. His work is inspired by imaginary, extinct animals and mythology, particularly Scandinavian mythology, making use of the rule from his “ArkiZoic” manifesto.
The work, based on drawings by Duilio Forte, was created for the exhibition “Stanza. Altre filosofie dell’Abitare” (Rooms. Other Philosophies of Living) curated by Beppe Finessi on the occasion of the XXI International Exhibition of Triennale Milano.
Ursus was created to provide a minimal living experience within a zoomorphic form.
The backdrop of the central space of the work, dedicated to conviviality, features wallpaper with a Nordic landscape design.
The two painted papers were made entirely by hand, using colours made from coffee, tea, ash and other organic elements to emphasise the role of the natural world as the common denominator.
In some parts, icing papers have been overlaid with the intention of giving the work an earthy and deliberately naive and spontaneous material appearance.
